Bergamot, lemon, smoky lapsang souchong tea, osmanthus, akigalawood, ambrette. The brief was apparently the feeling of stepping out of city noise into a peaceful garden, and the pineapple charm on the bottle hints at that escapist idea. Whether you buy the marketing or not, the perfume itself is one of the more interesting compositions in the collection, mainly because that tea note refuses to behave like anything else on the market.

How It Smells

It opens citrus, but not the bright fizzy citrus you expect from a designer floral. The bergamot reads almost bitter, and lemon adds a metallic edge for a few minutes before things change direction. The lapsang souchong tea heart is the surprise: smoked, slightly tarry, recognizable to anyone who drinks tea seriously, but pulled into the floral world by an osmanthus that smells of apricot skin and faint leather.
