If Florabotanica was the punk rose, Rosabotanica is its sun-warmed cousin. Released in 2013 as a flanker to the cult original, Rosabotanica softened the unconventional botanical concept by adding warm fruit and bright citrus, while keeping the same rose-cardamom-cedarwood spine.

Like its sibling, Rosabotanica was discontinued before Balenciaga’s 2025 perfume relaunch and is now found only on resale markets.

Our interpretation references the original 2013 formulation as a long-lasting Eau de Parfum, made in the EU.

How It Smells

Where Florabotanica opened with green leaves and mint, Rosabotanica opens with grapefruit and bergamot, immediately brighter and more accessible. The caladium leaf accord is still there, more muted now, joined by figs and a touch of fruitiness that gives the composition warmth.

The heart is centered on rose, but a sun-ripened rose this time, joined by cardamom that adds spice without weight. By the dry-down, you settle into cedarwood and amber, with a soft musk base that lingers for hours. Less punk than Florabotanica. More like its older sister who learned to dress better.
