Check Please, inspired by Mind Games Check Please (2025)

Check Please behaves like an apple brandy poured over dessert. Green apple gives the top a crisp, boozy snap, while nougat and hazelnut add a confectioner's sweetness straight away. Black plum and rose darken the heart, and cinnamon bark brings dry spice. The base smells of the cask: oak barrel and bourbon vanilla over amber, rounded with sandalwood oil.

About the original

Mind Games added Check Please to its Soulmate Collection on 30 October 2025, alongside Playmate. It launched as a global in-store exclusive at Selfridges. Retailers credit the extrait de parfum to Laure Breysse, who describes it as a refined take on the fruity gourmand.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mind Games stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its sweetness comes with an aged-spirits character from oak barrel and bourbon vanilla. It is clearly sweet all the same, and retailer copy places it in autumn and winter. The nut and spirit notes could feel heavy to a wearer after something light.

Apple and hazelnut meet at the top, the fruit tart and the nut toasted, with nougat smoothing them together.

Plum brings a dark, jammy depth to the heart, and Bulgarian rose and cinnamon bark spice it.

Oak barrel and bourbon vanilla set the drydown on an aged-spirits note, with amber and sandalwood oil underneath.

Yes. The apple, oak barrel and bourbon vanilla combine into something close to an apple cognac, sweetened by nougat.
