Father Figure, inspired by Phlur Father Figure (2023)

Fig leads, green and milky like the sap from a split stem, with water lily adding a dewy freshness and cassis buds a tart, leafy edge. Orris root, from the iris plant, follows with a powdery, suede-like texture. Sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla make the base creamy, while skin musks and a sheer patchouli leaf keep it light.

About the original

Phlur, the brand relaunched by Chriselle Lim in 2022, released Father Figure in 2023, a date that rests on fragrance references. Frank Voelkl, the perfumer also known for Le Labo Santal 33, composed it. Phlur does not assign it a gender, and fragrance references list it as unisex. It is sold through Phlur's own site and Sephora.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Phlur stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Reviews call it light, fresh and quite androgynous. Fig lovers who find classic fig scents too green may prefer how this one softens into wood and vanilla. As a woody scent it is sheer, so it will disappoint if density is what you want.
