Organza

Organza, inspired by Givenchy Organza (1996)

Organza is rich from the first spray. Jasmine opens it and gardenia, a dense, heady white flower, carries the heart, with vanilla underneath giving both a rounded, enveloping feel. Fuller published note lists add nutmeg and mace for spice, plus amber and guaiac wood in the base, which explains its classification as an oriental floral. The overall effect is plush and formal rather than fresh.

About the original

Sophie Labbé composed Organza, which Givenchy launched in 1996. Its bottle, designed by Serge Mansau, takes the shape of a draped female figure in a gown. The spicier Organza Indécence followed in 1999 as a separate fragrance. Givenchy still sells the original, and some long-time wearers say vintage bottles from the 1990s smelled stronger than recent ones.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Givenchy stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its texture is dense, with vanilla and amber giving the flowers a rounded weight. Lovers of gardenia will find it generous, while fans of transparent, clean florals may find it too much.

Yes. Givenchy still sells Organza Eau de Parfum.

Is this Organza or Organza Indécence?

The original Organza from 1996. Organza Indécence (1999) is a different, spicier fragrance.

Is Organza a vanilla perfume?

Vanilla forms the base, but jasmine and gardenia lead. It is a white floral first.
