Blanche Bête, inspired by Les Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bête (2021)

The milk accord is the first thing to register, round and slightly lactonic, with ambrette seed adding a musky, faintly pear-like softness. Jasmine and tuberose then bloom inside that milkiness, so the flowers feel cushioned rather than loud. A little incense runs underneath and keeps it from becoming purely sweet. The drydown turns to cacao, tonka and a musky vanilla with the feel of warm fabric.

About the original

Blanche Bête was announced in December 2021 and was composed by Louise Turner of Givaudan for Les Liquides Imaginaires, an independent Paris niche house. According to retailers, it belongs to a trilogy called Les Eaux de Peau, a tribute to animal scents, alongside Peau de Bête and Bête Humaine. The brand files it under its musky scents. It is a different fragrance from Byredo Blanche and from the house's own Belle Bête.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Les Liquides Imaginaires stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

White-floral fans who find most tuberose scents too shrill may prefer this softer, milkier take. The vanilla and cacao give it a gourmand edge, and the incense, though light, may surprise anyone expecting a purely clean musk.

Belle Bête is an earlier Liquides Imaginaires release from 2016. Blanche Bête is a separate fragrance from 2021 built on white flowers and milk.
