Tilia, inspired by Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia (2024)

Linden, the blossom of the lime tree, gives Tilia its pale, honeyed sweetness, and broom adds a yellow-flower note with an apricot tint. Jasmine sambac and heliotrope bring a powdery floral layer in the middle. Below that, vetiver lends a smoky, earthy grounding and cedar a dry woodiness. Ambroxan, a modern material with a mineral, ambery glow, holds everything together without making it heavy.

About the original

Marc-Antoine Barrois, a Paris couturier who also runs an independent niche perfume house, released Tilia on 1 April 2024. Quentin Bisch composed it, and the brand says the idea came from family holidays in the Alpilles in Provence. The house states that it has not been reformulated since launch. It is sold through the brand's own site and niche perfumeries.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Marc-Antoine Barrois stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Linden and broom make it feel like a sunny afternoon outdoors rather than a bridal bouquet. The heliotrope adds a powdery side, and the vetiver a faint smokiness, so those who want a clean, transparent floral may find more texture than expected.
