Drunk Saffron

Drunk Saffron, inspired by BORNTOSTANDOUT Drunk Saffron (2022)

Drunk Saffron opens like a glass of cognac with stewed plum, rich and slightly fermented. Saffron then brings its dry, leathery spice, and an accord of damp earth adds a cellar-like mustiness alongside a shot of coffee. That earthy, bitter streak is what holds the sweetness back. On skin it settles into patchouli and vanilla with a clean musk underneath.

About the original

BORNTOSTANDOUT released Drunk Saffron in 2022 as part of its core eau de parfum collection. Honorine Blanc is credited with the composition. The name is easily confused with the house's other 'Drunk' scents, such as Drunk Lovers and Drunk Maple, which are different fragrances. One retailer describes it as a sensual gourmand in which leather and earthy patchouli keep the sugar from taking over.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not BORNTOSTANDOUT stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its natural audience is anyone drawn to boozy, liqueur-style scents with a leather streak. Coffee and earth make it less dessert-like than the name might imply. The damp, soil-like accord may feel odd to those expecting a polished saffron rose.
