Purple Stain, inspired by BORNTOSTANDOUT Purple Stain (2025)

Purple Stain opens with a spice cabinet: saffron, cinnamon bark, nutmeg and fresh ginger, lifted by mandarin and bergamot. The middle turns sweet and resinous with orange blossom, caramel and Peru balsam, a resin with a vanilla and cinnamon tone. Underneath, Akigalawood (a patchouli-derived note with a peppery, woody feel) joins oud, cypriol and cistus to give a smoky, woody finish. The brand calls it velvety and bold.

About the original

BORNTOSTANDOUT launched Purple Stain in 2025, credited to Jordi Fernández. The house says the idea came from wine stains on an old leather journal. It is sold in the brand's Extrait Extrême collection, although the official page does not state the concentration outright. A separate BORNTOSTANDOUT scent, À Corps Secret, shares part of its web address but is a different product.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not BORNTOSTANDOUT stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Spice is the first thing to know about: cinnamon and nutmeg are prominent from the start. Caramel and vanilla make the heart sweet, and the oud base adds smoke. It will suit someone who likes an amber-style spiced scent more than anyone after freshness.

Does Purple Stain smell of wine?

Not literally. Wine stains on a leather journal were the brand's inspiration, but the notes are spices, caramel, vanilla and oud rather than a wine accord.

Is Purple Stain the same as À Corps Secret?

No. They are separate BORNTOSTANDOUT fragrances, even though their web addresses look similar.
