The Story Behind the Scent

Byredo built Black Saffron as a modern take on an exotic, spicy accord, inspired by the richness of saffron and dried fruit. The idea was something warm and slightly leathery, refined rather than heavy.

The mix of spice, fruit, and leather gave it a distinctive, grown up character. The saffron makes it exotic, the raspberry keeps it juicy, and the leather and vetiver ground it. Our interpretation follows that same balance.
