Princess, inspired by Vera Wang Princess (2006)

Princess is unapologetically sugary. Lady apple and golden apricot give the top a crisp, candied fruitiness, and the mandarin is styled as meringue, so the citrus arrives already whipped and sweetened. Pink guava and Tahitian gardenia bring a tropical floral heart, with tuberose for body and dark chocolate adding a cocoa edge. The base is vanilla chiffon over amber and woods, airy rather than dense.

About the original

Coty launched Princess in 2006 under the Vera Wang licence, aiming it at a younger audience. It comes in a heart-shaped purple bottle topped with a crown. A long run of flankers followed from 2008, starting with Flower Princess and later including Rock Princess and Glam Princess. This page refers to the 2006 original, whose perfumer has not been publicly identified.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Vera Wang stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its target was a younger audience, and the style still reads as playful and youthful. Expect obvious sweetness from start to finish; the chocolate and meringue notes will feel too confectionery-like for lovers of clean or green florals.

Vera Wang Princess, the 2006 fruity floral in the heart-shaped bottle. Kilian Princess is a different fragrance from another house, which we also make.

Is this the original Princess or a flanker?

The original from 2006. Flower Princess, Rock Princess, Glam Princess and the other flankers are separate fragrances.

Does it really smell of chocolate?

A little. Dark chocolate sits in the heart as cocoa shading under the fruit and flowers rather than as the main note.
