Agua Del Sol, inspired by Escada Agua del Sol (2016)

It opens cold and fruity, closer to a dessert counter than a fruit bowl: raspberry sorbet and pear ice cream, with mandarin and citrus peel trimming the sugar. Pink pepper adds a faint tingle. As the icy effect fades, rose and apricot come through, rounder and more velvety than the top. Tonka bean, sandalwood and white musk make a gentle, slightly vanillic base, and many wearers describe the whole thing as a tropical fruit cocktail.

About the original

Agua del Sol was Escada's limited summer edition for 2016, released as an Eau de Toilette in 30, 50 and 100 ml. In the long series of yearly summer launches it sits between Turquoise Summer (2015) and Fiesta Carioca (2017). No perfumer is credited in the sources we checked. The name is easily mixed up with Flor del Sol, a different Escada edition from 2020. Like the other summer editions, it was made for one season and is no longer produced.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Escada stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Casual summer days and fans of very sugary, fruit-forward scents are its home ground. It feels light rather than dense, but the sweetness is obvious from the first spray, so anyone who dislikes sorbet or candy notes should look elsewhere.

Rose and apricot form a mellow fruity-floral middle that feels fuller than the icy top.

The drydown is tonka bean and sandalwood with white musk, a light finish with a vanilla tint.

Is Escada Agua del Sol the same as Flor del Sol?

No. Agua del Sol is the 2016 summer edition built on sorbet and fruit notes; Flor del Sol (2020) is a separate edition themed on a Tequila Sunrise cocktail. We make both.

Is Agua del Sol still made?

No. It was Escada's limited edition for summer 2016 and is no longer produced.

How sweet is it?

Very. The sorbet and ice cream notes dominate the opening, and the tonka base keeps a dessert-like feel.

Is Escada Agua Del Sol coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Escada about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
