Armani Code Satin, inspired by Armani Code Satin (2015)

Chilled pear and a prickle of ginger make the first impression, fruity and lightly spiced at once. Orange blossom and jasmine follow, giving the middle a honeyed white-floral body. The real weight sits underneath: praline and cocoa bring a confectionery richness, and vanilla rounds it into something dense and sweet. Patchouli, an earthy leaf note, keeps the base from tipping into pure sugar.

About the original

Armani released Code Satin in August 2015 as a flanker of Armani Code pour Femme (2006), selling it in a deep pink bottle. Claire Liégent and Dominique Ropion are credited as its perfumers. Its launch material leaned on the intense, sweet base, which set it apart from the lighter Code Turquoise released the same year. It is absent from Armani's current UK and US women's ranges, and reviewers widely report it as withdrawn, although the brand has made no statement.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Anyone already fond of gourmand florals will find it familiar territory. It feels rich and enveloping. If cocoa and praline sound too much like a sweet shop, this one will not change your mind.

Top notes: Ginger, Pear Sorbet

Heart notes: Neroli, Jasmine, Orange Blossom

Base notes: Patchouli, Cocoa, Praline, Vanilla

Pear sorbet gives the top a cold, fruity sparkle, and ginger adds a light peppery tingle.

Orange blossom and jasmine take over in the heart, floral and slightly honeyed, with neroli lending a cleaner citrus-petal edge.

The drydown is where Code Satin settles: praline, cocoa and vanilla, held in shape by patchouli.

Is Armani Code Satin discontinued?

It no longer appears in Armani's UK or US ranges and is widely reported as withdrawn. Armani has not issued an official statement.

How does Code Satin differ from Code Turquoise?

Both are 2015 flankers of Code pour Femme. Satin is the sweet, cocoa and praline version; Turquoise is a lighter orange blossom scent released for summer.

Is it very sweet?

Yes. The base of praline, cocoa and vanilla is its defining feature, so expect a dessert-like finish.

Is Armani Code Satin coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Giorgio Armani that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
