Armani Code Parfum, inspired by Armani Code Parfum (2022)

Bergamot opens Code Parfum with a clean, slightly green citrus note, helped by bergamot leaf. Clary sage then brings a herbal, almost musky warmth, and iris turns the heart powdery and smooth. Tonka bean and Virginia cedarwood make up the base, so the finish is gently sweet and woody at once. A neat, tailored feel holds throughout.

About the original

Armani launched Code Parfum in late summer 2022, and launch reports credit Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan as the perfumer. Armani presented it as a woody aromatic reinvention of the original Armani Code, with clary sage and iris at its heart. It introduced a black-and-clear bottle later adopted across the men's Code line and is sold in refillable format.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Iris lovers who want it clean rather than heavy will get on with it best. The iris is noticeably powdery, which may feel too cosmetic for men who dislike powder. It shares little with the tobacco-and-leather 2004 Armani Code apart from tonka, so fans of the original should not expect a stronger version of it.

How is Code Parfum different from the original Armani Code?

The 2004 Armani Code centres on star anise, tonka, leather and tobacco. Code Parfum is built on bergamot, clary sage and iris over tonka and cedar, so it is cleaner and more powdery.

Is Armani Code Parfum the same as Code Profumo?

No. Code Profumo is an earlier, separate flanker, while Code Parfum came out in 2022 with an iris-led composition.
