Brit Rhythm Intense, inspired by Burberry Brit Rhythm for Him Intense (2015)

There is a herbal, savoury bite at the start: sage and pepper, with cumin adding a skin-like spice. The heart is where the leather sits, wrapped in amber and patchouli. Guaiac wood, which smells smoky and faintly rosy, leads the drydown with cashmere wood and tonka bean. Documented accords suggest the finish turns noticeably sweeter and more vanillic than the opening implies.

About the original

Burberry launched Brit Rhythm for Him Intense in February 2015, released together with Brit Rhythm for Her Floral. It was positioned as a more masculine edition of Brit Rhythm for Him, with stronger leather accents. The original Brit Rhythm for Him still turns up in some Burberry country stores, but the Intense version is absent from the brand's main men's range, which centres on Hero and Mr Burberry. Fragrance references report that it has already been discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Burberry stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who already like Brit Rhythm for Him but want more spice and leather are the natural audience. Cumin can read sweaty to some noses, and the sweet drydown will not suit anyone after a strictly dry woody scent.

Is Brit Rhythm Intense the same as Brit Rhythm for Him?

No. Intense is the 2015 flanker with more spice and leather. We also make the original Brit Rhythm for Him.

Has Burberry discontinued Brit Rhythm Intense?

It no longer appears in Burberry's men's range, and the product pages we found returned errors. It is reported as discontinued, but we found no official statement.

Does it contain cumin?

Yes, in the opening alongside sage and pepper. It is noticeable early on and recedes as the leather and woods take over.

Is Burberry Brit Rhythm Intense coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Burberry that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
