Burberry Summer Women, inspired by Burberry Summer for Women (2013)

Pomegranate gives the first impression, tart and red, with mandarin and a green, leafy note keeping it from turning syrupy. Within a short while the fruit thins out and the flowers take over: freesia, with its peppery lift, alongside lily-of-the-valley and a little rose. Nothing here is heavy. The base is pale and clean, cedar and sandalwood smoothed with white musk, so the overall impression stays airy from start to finish.

About the original

Burberry released a different Summer for Women almost every year between 2009 and 2013, each a seasonal take on Burberry for Women (1995) and each with its own formula. This page follows the 2013 edition, the one most widely stocked by discount retailers, whose bright colours drew on Burberry's Spring/Summer 2013 fashion collection. Earlier years used other fruits, such as litchi and grapes in 2009 or peach in 2010. Every edition was sold for one season only, and none appears in Burberry's current range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Burberry stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Anyone who finds most florals too formal will get on with this one, since it reads casual and clean. It was made for warm-weather daytime wear. On a cool evening or under a heavy coat it can feel too sheer to register.

Which year of Burberry Summer for Women is this based on?

The 2013 edition. Burberry made a new formula most summers from 2009 to 2013, so if you owned an earlier bottle, the fruit notes may differ.

Is this the same as Burberry Summer for Men?

No. The men's Summer editions were separate fragrances. This is the women's version.

Is Burberry Summer still made?

No. Each edition was a limited summer release sold for a single season.

Is Burberry Summer Women coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Burberry about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days. It arrives in 3 to 7 days across the EU and in 7 to 14 days outside the EU. You have 14 days to return an unopened bottle.
