Cheap & Chic Light Clouds, inspired by Moschino Cheap and Chic Light Clouds (2009)

Light Clouds lives up to its name: everything about it is pale and airy. Peach blossom and cyclamen open with a dewy, faintly fruity freshness, and green leaves stop it from going sweet. Lotus, jasmine and rose make a translucent floral middle. The drydown is where the cloud effect lies, a cushiony musk with ambrette, vanilla and a little sandalwood.

About the original

Olivier Cresp created Light Clouds for Moschino in June 2009 as part of the Cheap and Chic family, in a blue-and-white bottle decorated with clouds. Some perfume databases carry a corrupted entry for it with a different year and perfumer, so details online can be contradictory. Moschino's current Cheap and Chic collection includes only the original and I Love Love, and perfume databases have it listed as discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Moschino stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

People who want to smell clean and quietly floral are the audience here. It is very light, so anyone looking for presence or richness will find it too faint. The musky drydown can also read as slightly powdery.

Is Cheap and Chic Light Clouds discontinued?

It no longer appears in Moschino's catalogue and perfume databases have it listed as discontinued. We found no statement from Moschino.

How is Light Clouds different from the original Cheap and Chic?

It is lighter and less powdery, with peach blossom and lotus instead of violet and iris, and a musky vanilla finish.

Is Moschino Cheap & Chic Light Clouds coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Moschino that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
