Diamonds, inspired by Emporio Armani Diamonds for women (2007)

Diamonds starts fruity, with lychee and raspberry giving a sugared, slightly tart lift. Bulgarian rose takes over in the heart, supported by freesia and lily of the valley, and it is treated as something to taste as much as smell. Vanilla and amber round it into a dessert-like finish, with vetiver adding a dry line beneath the sweetness.

About the original

Thierry Wasser of Firmenich composed Diamonds for Emporio Armani, and it launched in September 2007 with Beyoncé singing 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' in the campaign. At launch the brand said it wanted to use rose 'like a flower that can be eaten', which explains the gourmand feel. Flankers followed, including Diamonds Intense, Rose and Violet, as well as Diamonds for Men. Armani still sells it: in France as Emporio Armani Diamonds She Eau de Parfum, and in the UK under the name Emporio Armani for Women Eau de Parfum, with the same notes.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Emporio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fruity roses with a vanilla finish are its territory. It is clearly sweet, so a wearer who prefers dry, green or powdery florals should approach with care.

This is Emporio Armani Diamonds for women (2007). Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds is a separate perfume, which we also make.

Does Armani still sell Diamonds?

Yes. Armani's French site sells it as Emporio Armani Diamonds She Eau de Parfum, and its UK site sells the same scent as Emporio Armani for Women Eau de Parfum.

How sweet is it?

Noticeably. Raspberry, lychee and vanilla lead, and the rose is styled as a gourmand note.
