Fahrenheit 32

Fahrenheit 32, inspired by Dior Fahrenheit 32 (2007)

Despite the name, this has almost nothing in common with the original Fahrenheit. It opens on orange blossom made airy by aldehydes, giving a laundered, slightly soapy brightness. Vetiver then runs underneath, a grassy root note that keeps it from becoming purely sweet. The vanilla base is smooth and comforting, and the combination is often compared to an orange ice lolly with cream.

About the original

Dior launched Fahrenheit 32 in 2007, with François Demachy and Louise Turner as perfumers and Hedi Slimane, then creative director of Dior Homme, involved in its development. It was marketed as a fresh oriental. Now Smell This found it quiet on the skin and very different in character from Fahrenheit (1988). Dior's US site now lists only the original Fahrenheit, and fragrance references record it as discontinued, with mixed reports of regional withdrawal from around 2017.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dior stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who like clean, slightly sweet fragrances for warm weather tend to enjoy it. It stays close and gentle, with no smoke or leather. Buyers expecting something like classic Fahrenheit will find a very different scent.

Orange blossom opens it, lifted by aldehydes into a clean, almost soapy freshness.

Vetiver comes through in the heart, green and grassy.

A vanilla base finishes it, sweet and smooth.

Does Fahrenheit 32 smell like the original Fahrenheit?

No. It is an orange blossom and vanilla scent with vetiver, and it is very different from the 1988 Fahrenheit.

Is Fahrenheit 32 discontinued?

It no longer appears in Dior's Fahrenheit range and is reported as discontinued, though Dior has not given an official date.

Is it sweet?

Moderately. The vanilla gives a creamy sweetness, balanced by vetiver and the soapy aldehydes.

Is Dior Fahrenheit 32 coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Dior that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
