Sculpture, inspired by Nikos Sculpture Homme (1995)

Sculpture Homme begins on bergamot and lemon, lifted by orange blossom and the rounder tone of mandarin. Jasmine and rose lead a floral middle where geranium adds a green, rosy edge and lily of the valley a fresh one. The sweetness arrives in the base. Tonka bean and benzoin, a balsamic resin with a vanilla-like tone, make the drydown plush, while amber and cedar give it body.

About the original

Nikos Parfums was set up in Paris by the designer Nikos Apostolopoulos. The women's Sculpture came first in 1994, followed in 1995 by Sculpture Homme as an eau de toilette and aftershave. Retailers describe its sail-shaped bottle as inspired by the Mediterranean. This page is the men's version, not Sculpture Femme or later flankers such as God's Night. We have not been able to confirm whether Sculpture Homme remains in the brand's current range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Nikos stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Retail descriptions point to warmer months and daytime wear. Because the base is noticeably sweet, men who dislike tonka or vanilla-like resins may find the drydown heavier than the citrus opening suggests.
