Flowerbomb Bloom, inspired by Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom (2017)

Bloom keeps the floral heart of Flowerbomb but strips away much of the weight. Mandarin and pomegranate give a tart, fruity start. Rose, jasmine and freesia follow, threaded with what Viktor&Rolf called a 'liquid air' accord, meant to evoke fresh air on a mountain top. The base is described simply as woody, so the finish is lighter and drier than the amber and vanilla of the Eau de Parfum.

About the original

Viktor&Rolf launched Flowerbomb Bloom as an Eau de Toilette in early 2017, with Domitille Bertier, one of the original Flowerbomb perfumers, as its nose. She described it as celebrating the passage from winter into spring. It is no longer listed in the Flowerbomb range on the brand's US site, where the line now runs from the Eau de Parfum to Nectar, Extreme, Ruby Orchid and Pretty Peony. Large retailers also show it as unavailable.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Viktor&Rolf stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Daytime wearers who like Flowerbomb's flowers but not its sweetness are the natural audience. Composed as a sheer Eau de Toilette, it has none of the ambery density of the main line, and its perfumer tied it to the arrival of spring.

It no longer appears in Viktor&Rolf's Flowerbomb range, and large retailers list it as unavailable. The brand has not published a statement about it.

How is Bloom different from the original Flowerbomb?

Bloom adds mandarin, pomegranate and an airy accord, and finishes on light woods. The 2005 Flowerbomb is denser and sweeter, with patchouli, amber and vanilla in the base.

Is Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Viktor&Rolf that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
