Light Blue Italian Love, inspired by Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Love for women (2022)

Light Blue Italian Love opens with lemon and the crisp tartness of Granny Smith apple. Jasmine sambac and white rose then soften the citrus, while ambrette, a seed with a musky, faintly pear-like smell, gives the heart a skin-like quality. Cedar and sandalwood take over in the base, wrapped in amber and white musk. It stays fresh throughout, with what the brand calls a new woody dimension beneath the fruit.

About the original

Dolce & Gabbana released Italian Love in 2022 as a limited edition pair of Light Blue flankers, one for women and one for men. Olivier Cresp, who created the original Light Blue in 2001, composed it. The brand called the women's version a fruity floral with a new woody dimension, meant to recall a southern Italian summer. As a limited edition it is no longer produced and has left the current Light Blue range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dolce & Gabbana stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Holidays, hot days and casual wear are where it belongs. It is easy and clean, with the apple adding a touch of sweetness. Cedar, amber and musk give the drydown more body than the bright opening suggests.

Is Light Blue Italian Love discontinued?

It was a 2022 limited edition and is no longer produced. Dolce & Gabbana's current Light Blue range does not include it.

The women's version. Light Blue Italian Love Pour Homme was released alongside it and has its own page in our men's range.

How does it differ from the original Light Blue?

Italian Love is a 2022 flanker by Olivier Cresp, who also composed the 2001 original. It pairs lemon and apple with jasmine, white rose and ambrette over a cedar, amber and musk base.

Is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Love coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Dolce & Gabbana about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
