Comète, inspired by Chanel Comète Les Exclusifs de Chanel (2024)

Comète centres on a cherry-blossom accord with a faint almond facet, delicate rather than fruity. Iris and heliotrope build the powder, iris dry and rooty, heliotrope gently sweet with an almond-and-vanilla quality. White musk wraps around all of it and keeps the effect luminous. Chanel calls it sparkling, and the result is more glow than dust.

About the original

Olivier Polge created Comète for Les Exclusifs de Chanel, and it launched in May 2024. Its name and inspiration come from the Comète necklace in Gabrielle Chanel's 1932 Bijoux de Diamants collection. Polge said he wanted it to smell of stardust. Les Exclusifs are not divided by gender, though this one is often read as feminine, and a Comète body oil is also sold.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Chanel stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Powder is the defining trait, so it rewards a real love of iris and heliotrope. In character it is light and luminous rather than dramatic. Powder-averse wearers should look elsewhere, since every note pulls in that direction.
