L'Eau Papier, inspired by Diptyque L'Eau Papier (2023)

Rather than a single note, it aims at an impression: the smell of paper. White musks give a clean, skin-like base from the very start. A rice-steam accord adds a hazy, starchy feel, and toasted sesame, used here to suggest fresh ink, brings a nutty dryness. Mimosa threads powder through it all before blonde woods take over.

About the original

Fabrice Pellegrin composed L'Eau Papier for Diptyque, with artwork by Alix Waline, and it came out in early 2023. The house presents it as a tribute to paper as the starting point of creativity, and to its three founders. Launch press also mentioned cereal and ink accords. It is sold as an eau de toilette, with a hair mist and shower gel in the same scent.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Diptyque stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Musk enthusiasts and anyone who dislikes heavy perfume will understand its appeal. The texture is powdery and hazy, almost abstract. Fruit or flower seekers may find it too understated.
