Salam, inspired by Anfas Salam

Salam begins on citrus, the mandarin sweet and the bergamot a touch bitter. Its heart mixes jasmine with magnolia, a flower with a lemony, creamy scent, and amber warms them from below. As it settles, sandalwood and musk give a smooth, creamy finish.

About the original

Salam belongs to Anfas, the Dubai-based house founded by Asim Al Qassim in 2014, and sits in one of its Arabia-themed collections. Anfas sells it on its own site as a 75 ml extrait de parfum, while some retailers label it eau de parfum instead. Neither its launch year nor its perfumer appears in the sources we checked.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Anfas stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Daytime and casual wear suit it, according to one retailer, which also places it in spring. Compared with the saffron and talc of Anfas Ishq it is lighter and more citrus-led, which may feel too plain for someone after a rich amber.

Is Anfas Salam an extrait or an eau de parfum?

Anfas lists the original as an extrait de parfum, although some retailers call it an eau de parfum. We produce ours in eau de parfum strength.

How does Salam compare with Anfas Ishq?

Salam is a citrus floral with jasmine, magnolia and sandalwood. Ishq is a powdery fruity amber with saffron, raspberry and talc.
