Sukar, inspired by Anfasic Dokhoon Sukar

Sukar means sugar in Arabic, and the name is a fair guide. Pear gives a juicy, almost syrupy note, and tonka bean adds a vanilla-and-almond roundness. Musk smooths everything into a skin-like haze, with oud as a woody shadow underneath. It reads as a musky sweet scent first and an oud scent only faintly.

About the original

As far as we can tell, the reference is Sukar by Anfasic Dokhoon, an Emirati brand active since 2006. The brand presents it in a Sweet & Sukar gift box with matching dokhoon (incense) and a room spray, describing a soft, musky sweetness of pear and tonka over oud. We have not found a launch year for it. It is a different perfume from Xerjoff Black Sukar and from Albdah Sukar.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Anfasic Dokhoon stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its main appeal is to people who like their musks sugared. The sweetness is strong and honey-like, which will be too much for anyone who prefers dry, green or fresh scents.

We have not been able to confirm whether the brand still produces it.
