Sandalo, inspired by Acqua di Parma Sandalo (2019)

Sandalo opens with a citrus brightness of bergamot, lemon, orange and petitgrain. Lavender and cardamom then bring an aromatic, gently spiced heart. The base is sandalwood, creamy and slightly sweet, supported by amber and tonka bean, which adds a vanilla-almond warmth.

About the original

Sandalo arrived in September 2019 as one of ten scents in Acqua di Parma's Signatures of the Sun collection. The brand classes it as Woody Aromatic. It is a different product from Colonia Sandalo, the cologne concentrate in the Colonia line. Sandalo was later repackaged in a transparent bottle with a new label.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Acqua di Parma stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A review calls it cozy and intimate, which fits the creamy sandalwood drydown. The lavender keeps it from turning heavy. Dry, smoky woods are not its territory.

Is this Sandalo or Colonia Sandalo?

Sandalo, the 2019 eau de parfum from Signatures of the Sun. Colonia Sandalo is a separate cologne concentrate.

Is Sandalo sweet?

Slightly. Tonka and amber add sweetness to the sandalwood, but lavender keeps it aromatic.
