Sugar Addict, inspired by BORNTOSTANDOUT Sugar Addict (2023)

Sugar Addict leads with granulated sugar and cinnamon, like the top of a fresh pastry. Cocoa and coffee extract follow, and their slight bitterness gives the sweetness something to push against. Rum brings a boozy depth to the base, alongside tonka bean, vanilla absolute and labdanum, a dark resin. Cashmere wood, a smooth musky-woody note, holds it together.

About the original

Sugar Addict is part of BORNTOSTANDOUT's core eau de parfum collection, and one fragrance reference gives 2023 as its launch year. The Seoul niche house credits it to Anne-Sophie Behaghel. The brand suggests wearing it as a skin scent or layering it with others. It is separate from the house's Cola Addict and has no connection to Franck Boclet Sugar or Aquolina Pink Sugar.

Who it suits

Sweetness is the whole idea, so it will appeal most to those who like confectionery scents and want cocoa and rum in the mix. Coffee and labdanum add some balance. Sugary perfumes that feel cloying to you will not be redeemed by this one.
