Wavechild, inspired by Room 1015 Wavechild (2024)

Orange, mandarin and lemon give a sparkling citrus start that soon slips into watermelon. Coconut then joins with a faintly salty, aquatic edge, so the fruit takes on a sunny, beachy feel. Further in, a cocoa note gives a vanilla-like sweetness. Amber woods and ambergris leave a smooth trace that one review compares to sunscreen clinging to skin.

About the original

Room 1015, a niche house, announced Wavechild in March 2024. Perfumer Jérôme Di Marino composed it as a tribute to surf culture and Huntington Beach, with nods to surfer gangs and bikers. The brand spells the name as one word, although some retailers write Wave Child. It is sold alongside the house's other eaux de parfum such as Kokoa Bang and Wasabi Klub.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Room 1015 stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Built around summer and the beach, it is best saved for hot weather. Someone hoping for a clean marine scent may be surprised by how sugary the watermelon and coconut turn out.
