Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri, inspired by Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri (1999)

Orange comes first and foremost in Arancia di Capri: Italian sweet orange, mandarin and lemon in a bright, juicy burst. Petitgrain, distilled from the leaves and twigs of the orange tree, adds a green, slightly bitter note. Cardamom gives a cool spice. In the base, caramel and musk soften the citrus into something rounded and gently sweet.

About the original

Arancia di Capri was one of the first scents in Acqua di Parma's Blu Mediterraneo collection, launched around 1999 or 2000 (sources disagree on the year). The original is an eau de toilette, and Acqua di Parma files it under Citrus Musk. The brand does not credit a perfumer. It remains in the brand's current range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Acqua di Parma stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Brand and press frame it as a summer daytime citrus. It is energetic and bright, with a sweet musky base. The caramel gives the drydown a roundness that dry, bitter citrus lacks.

Both are Blu Mediterraneo citrus scents. Arancia di Capri centres on orange with a caramel base, while Bergamotto di Calabria is built around bergamot. We make both.
