Fabulous, inspired by Victoria's Secret Fabulous (2013)

Currant gives it a tangy, berry-like edge, set against two flowers. Osmanthus is a small Asian blossom often compared to apricot with a faint suede undertone, and here it gives the heart a rounded, fruity depth. Pink freesia adds an airy, clean floral note on top. Brand copy published only these three notes, so the base is not documented.

About the original

Fabulous launched in February 2013 as a Victoria's Secret collection, sold as a 50 ml eau de parfum and a 250 ml scented mist. Launch copy described it as 'juicy currant, osmanthus blossom and pink freesia'. Isaac Mizrahi's Fabulous is an unrelated fragrance from another brand. Whether Victoria's Secret still makes it is something we have not been able to establish.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Victoria's Secret stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A wearer who likes fruity florals but tires of berry-heavy scents may appreciate the osmanthus, which adds depth to the fruit. With no base notes published, the finish on skin is harder to predict than for a fully documented pyramid.

Is this the Victoria's Secret or the Isaac Mizrahi Fabulous?

The Victoria's Secret Fabulous from 2013. Isaac Mizrahi's Fabulous is a different fragrance.

What does osmanthus smell like?

Osmanthus is a flower with a fruity, apricot-like scent and a faint leathery undertone. In Fabulous it sits beneath the currant.

Is Fabulous still sold by Victoria's Secret?

We have not been able to confirm if Fabulous remains in production.
