Elves, inspired by Louis Vuitton eLVes (2025)

Rose is the centre of eLVes, a Centifolia from Grasse extracted with CO2, a method that tends to keep a fresh, true-to-petal character. Lily of the valley adds a dewy, green floral note beside it. Fruity touches of blackcurrant and peach and a little cinnamon and ginger sit around the edges, and launch coverage also lists coconut milk. Louis Vuitton describes a hot-cold effect, and the base of Ambroxan, a mineral, ambery-woody material, with earthy patchouli gives the rose its amber warmth.

About the original

Louis Vuitton launched eLVes in April 2025, created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The name is pronounced like the French elles, and the brand presents the scent as a tribute to the courage, strength and beauty of women. A separate bottling in an archival Monogram design, marking 130 years of the Monogram, is sold as a limited edition, while the scent itself is part of the permanent range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Louis Vuitton stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A wearer who loves rose but finds the classic powdery versions old-fashioned will see the appeal of this one. The amber base gives it body without heavy sweetness. Anyone sensitive to Ambroxan's mineral, slightly salty character may notice it most in the drydown.

Blackcurrant and peach give the top a fruity tang, with ginger and cinnamon adding a light spice.

Centifolia rose dominates the heart, fresh and petal-like, with lily of the valley and a smooth coconut milk accent.

Ambroxan and patchouli form the base, an ambery, woody finish that carries the rose.

How do you pronounce eLVes?

Like the French word elles, meaning 'they' for women. The LV in the middle is the brand's initials.

Is eLVes a limited edition?

The scent is part of Louis Vuitton's permanent range. Only the archival Monogram bottle, marking 130 years of the Monogram, is described as limited.

Does eLVes smell of coconut?

Coconut milk appears in the note list from launch coverage, alongside the rose and fruit. Louis Vuitton's own page does not name it.
