Scent inspired by
Balenciaga Cristobal
Price range: 39,00 € through 59,00 €
50 ml
Our interpretation of Balenciaga Cristobal, a warm oriental floral built on jasmine and rose with spicy carnation over vanilla, sandalwood and amber. Rebuilt as an Eau de Parfum at up to 40% perfume oil and made in the EU.
The original has since been discontinued, which makes it harder to find. Our interpretation keeps that character available, rebuilt at a higher perfume oil concentration for bolder projection and longer wear.
Concentration: EDP (up to 40% oil)
Made in EU

Isabella Woods (verified owner) –
I feel like myself again! I love all kinds of perfume (woody, oriental etc.) but Cristobal was always the constant in my ‘fragrance wardrobe’. I was nothing short of devastated when, c. 2009, I learned that Balenciaga was no longer making it. For several years I bought old stock but eventually vintage bottles on eBay were going for around £300, and as they were original bottles the perfume had gone off a bit and had sediment at the bottom of bottles.
I had never heard of fragrance dupe companies till a few years ago. I was staggered to discover that a Northern Irish company called Black Point was making Cristobal. I had tried a couple of other companies’ versions and they were no good. Black Point’s was very similar. HOWEVER, this past summer they closed as a business so I was once more devastated! What a joy, then, to discover Parfumour and that they duplicate not only Cristobal but several other of my favourite perfumes eg Jo Malone Amber and Lavender! Moreover, Parfumour’s version of Cristobal is the most like the original (I do not believe it lasts as long as the original; I must be completely honest for consumers here, but the formulation is different and that is why). I understand that they have used more of the niche perfume notes (eg fig and carnation) so the overall effect is strikingly similar. I am so grateful that they are making it!
On perfume forums many women have been devastated at the discontinuation of Cristobal (it seems that for many of us it was our ‘signature scent’) so I have told everyone on Fragrantica that they can find it here. You may be concerned at not being able to get a sample first but do take the plunge – you won’t be disappointed!
