Signature, inspired by Montblanc Signature (2020)

Montblanc built Signature on a contrast between vanilla and white musk, and that pairing defines how it wears. Clementine gives a brief citrus lift before the flowers arrive. Magnolia and peony keep the heart airy, while ylang-ylang adds a richer, slightly buttery floral tone. Benzoin, a balsamic resin with an amber, vanilla-like smell, deepens the base without weighing it down.

About the original

Guillaume Flavigny and Natalie Gracia-Cetto created Signature, launched in May 2020. Gracia-Cetto said she aimed for light and transparency while keeping it sensual. Mark Eisen designed the opalescent bottle, whose gold details come from the Meisterstück pen, and the name is written in handwritten calligraphy. Montblanc later added Signature Absolue and Signature Elixir; this page refers to the original eau de parfum.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Montblanc stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Vanilla lovers who find gourmand scents cloying may get on with it, because the musk keeps the vanilla clean. Montblanc presents it as an everyday fragrance. It does lean sweet in the drydown, so fans of green or citrus scents may find it too comfortable.

Moderately. Vanilla and benzoin are central, but white musk and clementine keep it lighter than a typical gourmand.
