Bronze Goddess Soleil, inspired by Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soleil (2011)

Soleil puts citrus first: Amalfi lemon, tangerine and bergamot, with petitgrain and a touch of lavender giving an aromatic, almost cologne-like lift. Orange flower and neroli continue that theme in the heart, joined by jasmine, pittosporum (a shrub with orange-blossom-like flowers) and lily. In the base, ambrette and musk give the impression of sunlit skin, with iris and woody notes keeping it pale and clean. There is none of the coconut sweetness of the original Bronze Goddess.

About the original

Bronze Goddess Soleil appeared in February 2011 as a limited 100 ml Eau Fraîche. It is easy to mix up with two other fragrances: the 2011 edition of Bronze Goddess itself, which kept the coconut style, and Azurée Soleil from 2006. Soleil was the citrus alternative for that summer and was not continued afterwards.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Estée Lauder stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A good fit for people who want the Bronze Goddess sense of sun on skin without the coconut. It is fresh and fairly light, best in heat. The lavender and petitgrain give it an aromatic edge that some may find closer to a cologne than to a beach scent.

Is Bronze Goddess Soleil discontinued?

Yes. Estée Lauder made it only for the summer of 2011.

Is Soleil the same as Azurée Soleil?

No. Azurée Soleil (2006) is an earlier, separate limited edition, and its formula was later used for the 2011 Bronze Goddess.

Does Soleil smell of coconut?

No. It drops the coconut of the original in favour of citrus, neroli and musk.

Is Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soleil coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Estée Lauder about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
