Alien Goddess, inspired by Mugler Alien Goddess (2021)

Italian bergamot opens Alien Goddess, a brief citrus flash before the flowers take over. Jasmine grandiflorum sits at the centre, rounded by a coconut cream accord and by heliotrope, a flower with an almond and powder edge. Vanilla runs underneath from early on and becomes the main voice as it dries, supported by benzoin, a balsamic resin, and cashmeran, a musky, faintly woody material. It reads golden and plush, sweet, though the jasmine keeps it from turning into pure dessert.

About the original

Mugler launched Alien Goddess in 2021 as a new branch of the Alien family, keeping the faceted Alien bottle but tinting it gold. Nathalie Lorson and Marie Salamagne composed it around jasmine, coconut and Bourbon vanilla, and Willow Smith fronted the launch campaign. Later flankers include Alien Goddess Intense, which we also make, and Alien Goddess Supra Florale.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mugler stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of vanilla who still want a floral presence will find the balance here. It feels plush and fairly sweet, with a powdery side from the heliotrope. The coconut accord is noticeable, which may not appeal to buyers who associate coconut with sun cream.

Yes, Mugler lists a coconut cream accord in the heart. It sits alongside jasmine and vanilla rather than dominating them.

Is it related to Burberry Goddess?

No. Burberry Goddess (2023) is a lavender and vanilla scent from a different house; only the names overlap.
