Dahlia Noir

Dahlia Noir, inspired by Givenchy Dahlia Noir (2011)

Pink pepper and mandarin give the start a light, prickly lift, while mimosa adds a yellow, pollen-like powder. Iris and rose follow, and the scent turns distinctly pink and powdery, with patchouli adding an earthy grain. The base follows chypre structure, meaning a woody, mossy foundation: sandalwood and a touch of oakmoss, softened by tonka bean and vanilla.

About the original

François Demachy created Dahlia Noir for Givenchy in 2011. Despite the name, it is softer and more powdery than the word noir suggests. Later releases such as Dahlia Noir L'Eau and Le Bal, and the separate Dahlia Divin line, are different fragrances. The original eau de parfum is absent from Givenchy's US range and is reported as withdrawn by several fragrance blogs.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Givenchy stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of iris will find a lot to enjoy here. It feels polished and quietly sophisticated. If you expect something dark and smoky from the name, the soft powder may disappoint.

Is Givenchy Dahlia Noir discontinued?

It no longer appears in Givenchy's US range and is widely reported as withdrawn, though Givenchy has not confirmed it.

Is this Dahlia Noir or Dahlia Divin?

The original Dahlia Noir eau de parfum from 2011. Dahlia Divin is a separate Givenchy line.

Does it smell dark?

Not really. It is a powdery iris and rose scent, lighter and pinker than the name suggests.

Is Givenchy Dahlia Noir coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Givenchy that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
