L'Instant Magic

L'Instant Magic, inspired by Guerlain L'Instant Magic (2007)

L'Instant Magic opens with a brief flash of bergamot before rose and white musk take over. Guerlain calls this musky heart its 'Musquinade', a play on the Guerlinade accord that runs through many of its classics. Almond wood and sandalwood give the base a powdery, nutty depth. The whole thing feels gentle, more skin scent than statement.

About the original

Randa Hammami created L'Instant Magic with Sylvaine Delacourte in 2007 as a flanker of L'Instant de Guerlain. The original was withdrawn around 2014 and later reissued, and it now sits in the Les Légendaires collection in the 1912 inverted-heart bottle. The reissue is said to differ from the 2007 formula, with fewer of its violet and iris facets.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Guerlain stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Quiet and close to the skin, it is a scent for people who dislike loud perfume. The almond-musk drydown is powdery and some compare it to baby powder, which is either the appeal or the reason to skip it.

No. L'Instant Magic is a 2007 flanker built around white musk, rose and almond. L'Instant de Guerlain is the original line, which we make separately.

Is the current L'Instant Magic the same as the 2007 version?

Guerlain reissued it in the Les Légendaires collection, and the reissue is reported to differ from the original, with fewer violet and iris facets. This page is based on the current published notes.
