Simply, inspired by Clinique Simply (2004)

Melon and white flowers give the start a watery, almost ozonic freshness. The centre of the composition is a soy-milk accord, nutty and milky, which some wearers love and others find odd in the first minutes. As it settles, vanilla and white musk take over and the result is clean and powdery, like a skin musk. A thread of smoky wood keeps the base from becoming bland.

About the original

Clinique introduced Simply in 2004, though one retailer dates it to 2003. It is reported to have been developed by Raymond Matts, then Clinique's head of fragrance development, who linked the soy-milk idea to the birth of his son and the white flowers to a Japanese florist in New York. The soybean note is what people remember, and opinion on it is divided. Simply is no longer listed by Clinique, and retailers describe it as discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Clinique stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Soft and clean, it suits people who want something that smells like clean skin rather than a statement. Spring and summer daytime is where wearers tend to place it. Milky and nutty notes are prominent early on, which puts some people off.

So far, we have found no announcement from Clinique that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
