A citrus opening gives way quickly to a floral heart where carnation, with its clove-like spice, sits beside jasmine and orris. Orris is the scent of iris root: powdery, cool and a little like violet. The base is plain and quiet, built on woody notes and musk. Going by its listed notes, it is a fresh, light floral.

About the original

Emilio Pucci released Pucci, a women's eau de parfum, in 1981. The house's first fragrance was Vivara (1965), relaunched in 2007, which is a different scent. Very little has been written about the 1981 Pucci, so details beyond its notes are scarce. The 1981 Pucci is recorded as withdrawn in fragrance databases, and we have found no new Pucci fragrance launches after 2011.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Emilio Pucci stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A woman who likes clean, clove-tinged florals with some powder will feel at home here. Carnation can read as old-fashioned to some noses, and orris adds a cosmetic quality that not everyone enjoys.

Is it a spicy perfume?

Only mildly. Carnation brings a clove-like note, but citrus and jasmine keep the overall feel fresh and floral.

So far, we have found no announcement from Emilio Pucci that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
