Girls Can Do Anything, inspired by Zadig & Voltaire Girls Can Do Anything (2018)

Pear and bergamot give the start a fresh, fruity lift, with orange blossom just behind them. The structure underneath is a fougère, perfumery's classic 'fern' accord, herbal and slightly green, and here it is sweetened with tonka bean, which smells of almond and hay. Vanilla, musk and ambroxan, a clean ambery material with a skin-like quality, make up the base.

About the original

Zadig & Voltaire released Girls Can Do Anything in 2018, with a Paris launch event that September, to accompany a collection of T-shirts and accessories carrying the same slogan. Quentin Bisch composed it, and the brand presented it as its first feminine fougère, a structure more often found in men's perfumery. A flanker, Girls Can Say Anything, followed the same year. The original is no longer listed by Zadig & Voltaire, and the brand's own product pages mark it as no longer available for sale.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Zadig & Voltaire stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Pairing fern with pear gives it a playful, slightly unconventional character: sweet enough for gourmand fans, yet more aromatic than a standard fruity vanilla. Tonka and vanilla are prominent in the drydown, so it does not suit a wearer looking for something dry or austere.

Zadig & Voltaire no longer lists it, and its own product pages say it is no longer available for sale. Remaining bottles still turn up with some online sellers.

No. Girls Can Be Crazy is a separate Zadig & Voltaire fragrance from the Girls Can line, which we also make.
