In Love With You, inspired by Emporio Armani In Love With You (2019)

Red fruit sets the tone from the start, a tart mix of raspberry and sour cherry with blackcurrant deepening it. Rose and jasmine sit in the middle, while wormwood, a bitter herb better known from absinthe, adds a green edge that cuts the sweetness. Patchouli takes over in the drydown and gives the composition the earthy, slightly woody depth that fragrance fans call a fruitchouli.

About the original

Emporio Armani launched In Love With You in January 2019 as a women's eau de parfum, following Because It's You in the line. A Freeze version followed in 2020. No perfumer has been publicly credited as far as we can find. Armani Beauty's Emporio Armani women's pages in the UK, France and Germany now list Because It's You and Power of You but not In Love With You, though some retailers still sell remaining stock.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Emporio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Berry sweetness is obvious here, but wormwood and patchouli give it more grit than a plain fruity scent. It moves easily from daytime into evening. Patchouli dominates the drydown, so a test is wise for anyone who finds that note too earthy.

It is no longer listed in Armani's current range on the brand's UK, French and German sites. Some retailers still sell remaining stock.

How is it different from Because It's You?

In Love With You is generally described as sweeter and fruitier, with cherry and wormwood over a patchouli base. We also make Because It's You.

Does it smell of patchouli?

Yes. Patchouli is the main base note and gives the berries an earthy, slightly woody backdrop.

Is Emporio Armani In Love With You coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Emporio Armani that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
