Stronger With You Oud, inspired by Emporio Armani Stronger With You Oud (2022)

Lavandin, a hardy hybrid of lavender with a more camphorous, slightly medicinal edge, carries the opening. Oud sits beside it, though here it is a polished wood note with none of the barnyard depth some ouds have. Before long vanilla takes over and the scent settles into the sweet base familiar from the Stronger With You line. Armani calls the result an ambery, woody fougère, the classic structure of lavender over a woody base.

About the original

Armani released Stronger With You Oud in mid-2022 as a limited-edition eau de parfum within the Stronger With You line, which began in 2017. Although it sits among the men's scents, the brand markets it as unisex. It is a separate composition from the Amber, Leather, Tobacco and Spices flankers, which share the name but not the formula. The perfumer is usually given as Cécile Matton, although we found no press release confirming it.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani (Emporio Armani) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Compared with a traditional oud fragrance, this one is gentle and sweet, and the wood soon gives way to vanilla. That makes it approachable for someone new to oud, while a buyer hoping for a dark, resinous oud may be disappointed. Its powdery sweetness will not suit those who dislike vanilla.

The opening pairs lavandin with oud: herbal and slightly camphorous on one side, smooth and woody on the other.

Vanilla rises early and rounds off both, adding a sweet, faintly powdery layer that dominates the later stages.

Is Stronger With You Oud discontinued?

It was a limited edition released in 2022 and no longer appears in Armani's UK, French, German or US ranges.

Is the oud strong or animalic?

No. The oud here is clean and smooth, and the vanilla soon leads. If you want a smoky or barnyard oud, this is not that style.

How is it different from Stronger With You Amber?

They are separate flankers with different formulas; the Oud version is built on oud, lavandin and vanilla. We make Stronger With You Amber on its own page.

Is Giorgio Armani (Emporio Armani) Stronger With You Oud coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Giorgio Armani (Emporio Armani) about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
