Ocean Di Gioia, inspired by Giorgio Armani Ocean di Gioia (2020)

Ocean di Gioia starts with pear and citrus, pulled into a dewy register by green notes. Water jasmine, a lighter, aquatic reading of jasmine, forms the heart with lily-of-the-valley and a little rose. A salty accord runs between them, giving the impression of skin after a swim. Musk and sandalwood keep the drydown clean and close.

About the original

Ocean di Gioia joined Armani's women's Acqua di Gioia family in 2020 as a flanker. The perfumers credited are Marypierre Julien and Sonia Constant. Its salt accord is what gives it a sea-air character. Armani's US site now states that the product has been discontinued.

Bring it back

When we make it, ours will be an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It will not be Giorgio Armani stock, an official relaunch or the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who likes the shower-fresh clarity of aquatic florals will feel at home here. Warm weather is its natural setting, and it never turns heavy. Wearers looking for depth or sweetness will find it too plain.

No. Ocean di Gioia belongs to the women's Acqua di Gioia family; Acqua di Giò is Armani's separate men's line.

When will it be available?

There is no date yet. We make it once its wishlist votes reach the target, and everyone who voted gets an email at launch.
