Aqva Divina by Bvlgari (2015)
Released in 2015 and crafted by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Bvlgari Aqva Divina was the first feminine fragrance in the predominantly masculine Aqva collection. Inspired by Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” the composition was built around bergamot, red ginger, salt crystals, quince, magnolia, amber, beeswax, and woody notes. The scalloped golden cap of its round flat bottle echoed the shell that Venus stands upon in the painting.
Aqva Divina has been discontinued from Bvlgari’s main catalog. While some retailers still have remaining stock through third-party sellers, the fragrance no longer appears on Bvlgari’s active Aqva collection page. Our interpretation references the original 2015 formulation as a long-lasting Eau de Parfum, made in the EU.

The Story Behind the Scent
Jacques Cavallier Belletrud created Aqva Divina as a tribute to Botticelli’s masterpiece “The Birth of Venus.” Where the original masculine Aqva captures the Mediterranean coast through a man’s perspective, Divina captures it through Venus rising from the sea: salt crystals, sun-warmed magnolia, soft amber. The bottle design follows: round and flat, with a scalloped golden lid reminiscent of Venus’s shell.
How It Smells
The opening is immediately fresh and slightly briny with bergamot, red ginger, and a sparkle of salt crystals that signal Mediterranean coast. There is an instant sense of sun-warmed feminine elegance.
The heart blooms with juicy quince and creamy magnolia, creating a refined fruity floral character. The dry-down settles on warm amber, smooth beeswax, and clean woody notes. A base that lingers on skin for hours with refined, slightly sweet, sun-warmed elegance.

How Our Version Compares
Our interpretation captures the bergamot-ginger-salt opening, quince-magnolia heart, and warm amber-beeswax base that defined Aqva Divina. Built as a long-lasting Eau de Parfum at up to 40% concentration, typically 6 to 8 hours on skin, longer on fabric.
