New West for Her

New West for Her, inspired by Aramis New West for Her (1990)

New West for Her is built around calone, a synthetic molecule that smells of sea spray and cut melon, used here in a large dose. Watermelon adds a cool, watery fruitiness on top. The heart turns green and floral: lily and hyacinth, a sprig of mint, and galbanum, a resin with the bitter smell of a snapped stem. Cedar, oakmoss and white musk settle it into a clean, slightly mossy finish.

About the original

Aramis, the Estée Lauder house, launched New West for Her in 1990 as the women's companion to New West for Him from 1988. According to one fragrance reference, the formula was first developed for the men's cologne and later adapted for women, and it was more popular in America than in Europe. It is a separate product from the men's New West and from the later New West Skin Scent for Her of 1992. Retailers generally list the women's original as an eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Aramis stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.
