Olympea Intense, inspired by Paco Rabanne Olympéa Intense (2016)

The blossoms come first: orange blossom and grapefruit blossom, with a touch of white pepper. Soon the familiar Olympéa idea takes over, vanilla seasoned with salt, here pushed further with white amber and ambergris. Ambergris lends a salty, skin-like depth, and cedar keeps the base from going limp. Sources describe it as heavier and sweeter than the original Olympéa, with less freshness.

About the original

Paco Rabanne released Olympéa Intense at the end of 2016 (some sources say 2017) as a flanker of Olympéa, launched in 2015. The brand described it as 'a sensual salty-vanilla newly fused with deep amber'. It no longer appears in Rabanne's Olympéa range, which now includes Absolu, Parfum, Elixir, Solar and Flora. Those are separate fragrances, even where their labels also use the word intense.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Paco Rabanne stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers who find the original Olympéa too light are its natural audience. The amber and vanilla are dense and sweet, and some people find the amber overpowering.

It no longer appears in Rabanne's Olympéa range, though some retailers still have stock.

How is it different from the original Olympéa?

It keeps the salted vanilla idea but adds amber and ambergris, so it is deeper and sweeter.

Is Olympéa Intense the same as Olympéa Absolu?

No. Absolu is a separate Parfum Intense that Rabanne still sells.

Is Paco Rabanne Olympea Intense coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Paco Rabanne that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
