Michel Almairac’s discontinued 2012 lighter Chloé sibling. Apple blossom and bergamot over jasmine, ylang and a clean vanilla musk base. Rebuilt at 40 percent perfume oil.
The Discontinued Apple Blossom Floral
See by Chloé launched in 2012 as the fragrance for Chloé’s younger sister brand of the same name (the See by Chloé clothing line). Composed by Michel Almairac, it offered a brighter, more youthful interpretation of the Chloé feminine: apple blossom and bergamot at the opening, jasmine and ylang ylang in the heart, and a clean musk vanilla base. It became briefly popular before See by Chloé as a fragrance line was discontinued in 2014, leaving the perfume in the rare category of intentional cult retirees. Original bottles now sell at premium prices on resale platforms. Our interpretation gives the composition a second life at proper concentration.
How It Smells
The opening is bright and slightly green, apple blossom giving a clean dewy fruity floral character with bergamot adding citrus lift and a quiet sparkling brightness through the early phase. Within fifteen minutes the floral heart settles: jasmine takes a creamy white floral lead, ylang ylang adds soft exotic floral support, and a quiet rose threads through the middle without dominating. The base is where See by Chloé differs from the deeper Chloé Eau de Parfum. White musk provides the clean modern foundation, vanilla adds soft warmth without going gourmand, and a quiet woody character grounds the composition. The overall impression is fresh polished floral, slightly younger in feel than the main Chloé line, designed for daytime and casual wear.
The Notes
Top: apple blossom, bergamot.
Heart: jasmine, ylang ylang, rose.
Base: white musk, vanilla, woody notes.
How Our Version Compares
See by Chloé has been out of production for over a decade now, and the resale market for sealed bottles has become both expensive and unpredictable. Our European Union production at 40 percent perfume oil concentration brings the composition back faithfully, with the apple blossom opening sparkling cleanly, the jasmine ylang heart holding through the wearing, and the vanilla musk drydown lasting into the next day on clothing.
Common Questions
Is the original really discontinued?
Yes, since 2014. Chloé retired the See by Chloé fragrance line entirely, and original stock has long since sold through major retailers. Authentic original bottles are increasingly hard to verify on resale platforms.
How does it differ from the original Chloé Eau de Parfum?
Lighter, brighter, and more fruity floral than the original Chloé. The apple blossom and bergamot opening gives See by Chloé a more youthful character; the vanilla musk base is cleaner and less amber forward than the parent fragrance.
Who does it suit best?
Anyone drawn to clean fresh fruity florals with a polished modern character. It reads slightly young but not childish, suitable for daytime, office, weekends, and casual evenings.
Best season?
Spring and summer especially, when the apple blossom and bergamot opening reads at its brightest. Autumn works in moderation; deep winter can flatten the lighter floral character.
