Chloe By Chloe, inspired by Chloé Eau de Parfum (2008)

Rose is the backbone of Chloé, but a fresh, airy rose rather than a jammy one. Peony opens it with a light, watery floral tone, then rose petals and magnolia fill the heart, giving a powdery, faintly lemony smoothness. Cedar and ambergris anchor the base, dry and slightly salty, which stops it from becoming sweet. It reads clean and composed throughout.

About the original

Chloé introduced this eau de parfum in 2008 as its new signature, composed by Michel Almairac and Amandine Clerc-Marie and presented in a pleated glass bottle tied with a ribbon. It replaced the earlier Chloé of 1975, a tuberose-led perfume, and the two smell quite different. Since then the line has added several flankers, including L'Eau de Parfum Lumineuse, Intense and Naturelle versions.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Chloé stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its restraint makes it an easy everyday rose. Lovers of rich, fruity or heavily sweet scents may find it too austere, while the powder may not appeal to buyers after something purely fresh.

Is this the 2008 Chloé or the 1975 Chloé?

The 2008 Chloé Eau de Parfum, the rose fragrance in the ribbon-tied bottle that Chloé sells today. The 1975 Chloé was a different, tuberose-based scent.

Is it the same as Chloé Nomade?

No. Nomade is a separate Chloé line, which we also make. This page is the rose-led signature eau de parfum.

Does Chloé smell powdery?

Somewhat. Chloé itself calls it a fresh powdery floral, with the powder coming mainly from rose and magnolia.
