Ambree, inspired by Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Ambrée (2020)

Ambrée sets creamy frangipani and ylang-ylang against the musk core of the NARCISO line. Ylang-ylang has a rich, slightly banana-like floral tone, and here it gives the flowers a tropical feel. Amber deepens the centre while cedar and cashmeran, a musky, woody material with a suede-like texture, keep it from turning syrupy. Launch press described the idea as sun-warmed skin, and the result is rounded and enveloping.

About the original

Narciso Rodriguez added Ambrée to the NARCISO collection in spring 2020, after NARCISO Rouge (2018), as a flanker of the 2014 NARCISO eau de parfum. The brand's site presents it as the exotic and sensual member of a family that also includes Poudrée, Cristal and Radiante. It is a different scent from NARCISO eau Néroli Ambrée, a later and lighter flanker, and from for her Amber Musc (2013). Press sources have not confirmed the perfumer.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Narciso Rodriguez stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Within the NARCISO family, the brand positions Ambrée as the exotic one, and it wears that way: musk wrapped in lush flowers and amber. The frangipani and ylang-ylang give it a heady floral richness that may not appeal if a crisp, airy musk is what you are after.
